Art is art because it impacts someone, it moves them, things happen to them, it excites them. People have created ways to express themselves since the dawn of humanity, from our hands to more complex tools. The question is always in the air, is a work made by hand without tools more art than one made with complex tools? Is an oil painting more art than a photograph? Is a direct photograph without filters or retouching more art than a photo processed with image editors? And here comes the hot potato: is a retouched photograph more art than an image generated with AI? Can an image, song, poem or film be considered art if it was generated with AI?

Art is art because it excites someone, not necessarily everyone, sometimes just one.
